WHY STRONGBOARD BALANCE IS AN EVOLUTION IN BALANCE AND STABILITY TRAINING

Unlike air filled bladders, rocker / roller, and wobble boards, StrongBoard Balance employs patented MULTI SPRING TECHNOLOGY™ (MST), which ensures constant muscle engagement and blood flow (increased oxygen) to ligaments, tendons, and joints. It also recruits the Central Nervous System, improves proprioception (body awareness), and restores a mind-body connection (neural pathways).

HOW STRONGBOARD BALANCE WORKS

When a person applies weight to StrongBoard’s platform, either by standing, planking, or sitting on it, each of StrongBoard’s four springs move and shift, responding to the slightest body movement. No matter how it bends, stretches or otherwise contorts, the elasticity of each spring forces it back to its original position (Hooke’s Law) and then with any shift in body weight, muscle inflection or breath, the process of shape shifting begins again, creating a constant instability. As the laws of physics explain, every action has an equal and opposite reaction, and it follows that a body in motion stays in motion. Therefore, stability is impossible, and a person must engage their entire core musculature and stabilizers while on StrongBoard. The given instability provides a challenging and effective full body workout

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BALANCE & STABILITY

Balance is finding your center of gravity when you are still, such as standing on one leg.
Stability is finding your center of gravity when you are moving, such as walking, running, bike riding, or playing sports.

Because StrongBoard Balance provides constant motion, users are training both balance and stability – balance as they pass over their center of gravity, and stability as they pass through their center of gravity.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM AIR FILLED BLADDERS, ROCKER / ROLLER OR WOBBLE BOARDS?

The density and range of motion provided by air-filled bladders is entirely dependent on the PSI, or amount of air, in the bladder. When the PSI is a little bit low, users can always find a sweet spot where the bladder sinks and limits neuromuscular feedback. When the PSI is high, users have a restricted range of motion.

Rocker / Roller and Wobble Boards go left to right or backwards and forwards, but they do not provide 360 degrees of motion, nor do they provide as much neuromuscular feedback. StrongBoard’s Unlimited Dynamic Articulation (UDA) allows the full spectrum of possible variances in which the user can move, providing a more nuanced and all-encompassing balancing and stability challenge, undeterred by the limited or flat experience of its peers.
