Yoga Workout | Partner Tree Pose

Namaste! Get your yoga workout on with the partner tree pose exercise on StrongBoard Balance Board, good for improving balance and overall core strength.

1.  Place two StrongBoards next to each other.

2.  Place your left foot across the center of the StrongBoard platform (your partner should be on your left, using their right foot).

3.  Keeping the left foot foot on StrongBoard, bend your right knee.

4.  Reach down with your right hand and clasp your right ankle, if possible.

5.  Draw your right foot up and place the sole against the inner left thigh or inner left calf if you need a variation (avoid placing right foot on the left knee).
Keep your toes pointing forward on the board, center of your pelvis directly over the left foot.

6.  Rest your hands on top of your pelvis. Keeping your pelvis in a neutral position, parallel to the floor. Lengthen your tailbone toward the floor.

7.  Once you have established your balance, press your right hand to your partner’s left hand.

8.  Gaze softly at a fixed point in front of you on the floor about 4 or 5 feet away.

9.  Stay for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

10. Exhale.

Switch legs/ boards and repeat.

Tree Pose | Next Level Yoga Pose

Take the tree pose to the next level with StrongBoard Balance Board!

1. Stand on the platform with the feet together and the arms by your sides.

2. Bend the right leg at the knee, raise the right thigh and bring the sole of the right foot as high up the inside of the left thigh as possible.

3. Balancing on the left foot, raise both arms over the head keeping the elbows unbent and joining the palms together. Hold the posture while breathing gently through the nostrils for about 10 complete breaths.

4. Lower the arms and right leg and return to the standing position with feet together and arms at the sides. Pause for a few moments and repeat on the opposite leg.

Tips: Imagine that the foot you are balanced on is the root of the tree and the leg is the trunk. Continue by imagining the head and outstretched arms as the branches and leaves of the tree. As you advance in this posture and are able to remain standing for more than a few moments, try closing the eyes and maintaining your balance. Hold the Tree Pose as long as you comfortably can. Repeat it two or three times on each leg.
