Surfing and Stand Up Paddling (SUP)

Stand-Up Paddle boarding (“SUP”) is an increasingly popular water sport that originated in Hawaii. Participants stand on a specially designed surfboard and use a paddle to catch larger waves, travel across the water, and reach farther distances. The SUP-er must use all of their core musculature, proprioceptors, upper and lower body strength, and agility in order to balance on the SUP and move across the water. In particular, strength in the ankles, hips, knees, shoulders, elbows, and trunk must be able to stabilize and move in multiple planes with full range of motion. StrongBoard Balance trains both the upper and lower body using functional training movement patterns that can mimic the motions performed on the board.
