Yanko Design: Supercharge Your Workout

Yanko Design Supercharge Your Workout

“The StrongBoard is a balancing board that tips the scales by making it a little more difficult to stand upright. The board contains a base and a balancing platform with 4 strategically placed springs that make balancing on it a challenge. Your muscles work even more to keep you from falling over, and therefore get the exercise they need!”

“The StrongBoard can be used to boost your core strength, flexibility, and even isolate and work out individual parts of your body to buff or tone them! You can even head to StrongBoard’s YouTube page to see how to use the board to get a better body, or boost your skills as a sportsperson.”

“A perfectly healthy workout without the effort of one!”

Balance in Baseball

StrongBoard Balance Board Baseball

The baseball season is now underway, and now is a great time to highlight how StrongBoard and baseball go together. Balance, coordination, and core stability are vital to success in baseball.

Balance affects fielding, hitting, and base running. Practice swinging the bat while on StrongBoard, and becoming as balanced as you can before swinging. The squat is a great exercise to do on StrongBoard to improve balance while fielding the ball, as players are moving toward the ball, then have to stop, find balance, and make an accurate throw to first base. You can also throw to a friend while on StrongBoard, trying to maintain balance and effectively move your energy in the right direction. For base running, try transferring all your energy from one leg to the other, as base stealers do when they begin taking off toward second base. Doing all these exercises will assist in strengthening your core.

Doing exercises which strength the core (which StrongBoard does constantly) will go a long way in core stabilization. Core muscles assist in spine stabilization, which supports better balance and improved overall performance. Trying to balance on StrongBoard will improve your coordination on the field, as it takes a greater effort to stay coordinated on StrongBoard.

Get Strong and Balanced with Vegan Protein

Vegan Protein

Going vegan shouldn’t stop you from enjoying delicious pre and post-workout protein shakes. No one needs whey, casein, or egg in their diet.

There are plenty of protein powder options on the market if you’re vegan. The types of protein powders out there which are vegan include hemp, soy, pea, and brown rice. All the proteins listed have proteins derived from plant based products. It’s a good idea to mix up protein powders to get all the branch chain amino acids you can, so your protein absorption is as complete as it can be. Try Vega Sport Performance Protein, as it sources it’s protein powder from a number of sources, including: beans, quinoa, millet, buckwheat, garbanzo beans, lentils, bean sprouts and flaxseeds.

Try to avoid any protein powders where sugar or sugar substitutes (such as sucralose and aspartame) and go with Stevia sweetened products instead, if you like the sweet taste.

Vegans, with the help of protein powder, the right diet, and dedication, are just as capable of looking like @BADASSVEGAN as a non-vegan is.

Working Out with Others to Get Stronger & Find Motivation

Working out with others increases your motivation to go workout, and the intensity of your workout once you’re there. A recent study by the Society of Behavioral Medicine found working out with a partner improved results while doing aerobic exercise. Another study found 95% of people completed a weight loss program if they had a friend doing it with them, compared to only 76% who did it on their own.

Working out with others at StrongBoard Balance Board Exercise For Vitality Class Inland Empire

Being around others can bring energy and added competitiveness, causing you to get more out of your workout. The one caveat is to try and find a workout partner or exercise group who are motivated to push themselves to get better. A lackadaisical group will only bring down your energy and make it harder to reach goals.

StrongBoard offers a number of StrongBoard Group X classes in California and Wisconsin, with more to come as more trainers are becoming certified to teach StrongBoard classes. Classes are available with a variety of classes for different exercises goals, including StrongBoard BURN!®, StrongBoard MOMMAS!®, StrongBoard BOOTCAMP!®, StrongBoard CIRCUIT!® and StrongBoard BURN!® Micro.

Competitive Lifters, Balance and Injury Prevention

StrongBoard Balance Board Scott O'Neil

Any personal trainer with a reputable certification, whether it be in body building, CrossFit, or HIIT, won’t start you off by throwing you right into the workout. They’ll start by warming you up, teaching form and injury prevention.

Balance is an integral part of injury prevention and mastering form. Having a good sense of balance will help prevent any accidental injuries which may occur from losing one’s balance, and help you avoid potentially scary injuries.

Strong goals aren’t achieved over night, and can take years of dedication to reach, which is why longevity is so important. While freak accidents happen, it is more often the little details, which build up over time and prevent someone from reaching their goal. In this case, we’re talking about being a little off balance, leading to compromised posture and improper form.

Being a little off balance isn’t a big deal, but over time it will catch up with you, creating extra soreness and even chronic injury or pain. By getting on your StrongBoard and working on exercises you regularly do at the gym or your box, you can practice great form, see your posture improve immediately, and prevent future injury.

Check out this video of our StrongBoard Ambassador Auwana Brown @AuwanaIsGifted and see how she’s using StrongBoard to work on perfecting her form:
