Kids Find More than Balance on StrongBoard

StrongBoard Balance Board Fit KidsWith the weather getting increasingly warmer, you might want to find a nice green space and start taking your workout with StrongBoard outside. Or, depending where you live, it might be too hot, and you’ll want to workout in air conditioning. Either way, there might be kids around (especially if you have children), and they’ll naturally ask:

“That’s cool, can I try it?”

The first thought of many parents faced with this question is, “Will my child be safe on StrongBoard?”

Yes, kids are definitely safe on StrongBoard. It’s best to demonstrate how to get on and off StrongBoard first, and some supervision is recommended. The thing is, most kids are naturals on StrongBoard.

Kids don’t typically weigh as much as adults so they don’t apply as much weight to the springs when they step on, and not as much imbalance is created. But they will have a blast wobbling around as much as a full sized adult.

Some good, easy, and fun exercises for kids on the board are: standing on it and moving around, push ups, and squats. You can add games like catch and tug a war… even the popular rhyme, “ears, shoulders, knees and toes” is fun on StrongBoard. In addition to requiring focus which is especially beneficial in children with ADHD and Autism, regular use of StrongBoard is shown to strengthen reaction time and improve hand eye coordination.

What Your StrongBoard Spring’s Color Says About You

StrongBoard Balance Board SpringsYou may not know it, but what you picked as your spring color may say something about how you use StrongBoard. Today we’re talking about what some of the most popular StrongBoard spring colors say about you. What color you chose isn’t the determining factor of who you are as a person, but certain colors do have different meanings attached to them.

Blue is the most popular color for Americans, and it is a popular spring color when people are picking out what color they would like. The color is associated with being calm, cool, and collected. You are the type who when the workout gets exhausting, you keep a calm demeanor and keep pushing.

Green is associated with being consistent, sensible, and persevering, according to color psychology. You are the type who uses StrongBoard at a certain time on certain days, determined to put in the work necessary to see change.

If you chose purple, then there is really no helping you, as you’re pretty far out there. All kidding aside, purple is a great color choice, and those who prefer purple tend in their own unique way, not automatically buying into what everyone is saying. You are the type of StrongBoard user who doesn’t automatically buy into ads or gimmicks or deflated half balls, and can see how StrongBoard can be used in unique ways, such as for yoga or stand up paddle boarding.

Working Out and Testosterone!

StrongBoard Balance Board Uriah Hall TestosteroneDon’t ask your endocrinologist, but there are easy natural ways to increase your testosterone with your StrongBoard Balance, along with diet and sleep. Testosterone is a very important hormone for your health, as it is a big influencer of mood, libido, strength, and muscle size.

Of course, many things affect testosterone levels, but if you nail down these three areas, you’ll be 90% of the way there. Like we’ve mentioned in previous blogs on sleep and diet, these two factors are the biggest influence on your physical health, and it’s no different for testosterone.

Exercise will give you a temporary boost of testosterone, but where the long term gains are achieved through consistent strength training. This type of training, along with StrongBoard, is the best way to get stronger, and build muscle mass. StrongBoard will help you increase your balance, coordination, and core stability, while also helping to prevent injury.

These additional bonuses will prevent you from missing long periods of exercise due to injury, while also helping you get a more effective workout from the added stability training. The more muscle mass you have, the higher your testosterone levels.

An additional bonus of working out is staying in shape and avoiding obesity, which significantly decrease your testosterone levels.

Bikinis and Board Shorts: Get Your Summer Abs Ready

StrongBoard Balance Board Abs Partner Workout
Summer is a little over a month away, so if you haven’t already, now is a good time to start working on your abs. Before we get into exercises you can do to strengthen abs, it’s important to know diet trumps exercise when trying to get a six pack. While working out and strengthening ab muscles will make them larger, if you eat poorly and accumulate belly fat than it won’t matter how many ab exercises you do.

For those out there who eat whatever they want, don’t exercise, and still have a six pack, you have won the genetic lottery and don’t need to continue reading this blog.

One of the great things about StrongBoard Balance is it forces your core muscles to contract in every position. Having to balance on a surface that never stabilizes engages all those abdominals – you tone, and tighten while burning calories.

A great way to directly work on your core is through the full plank. Check out the video here:

Another great way to engage your core is the reverse plank:

Finally, we have an ab workout you can do with a partner (or by yourself):

Uriah Hall Balances for the Win

StrongBoard Balance Board Uriah HallStrongBoard’s own Uriah Hall is quickly rising up the ranks of the UFC, and will be taking on Anderson Silva, one of the greatest UFC fighters of all-time. Make sure to tune in on May 14th at 7PM PT on pay-per-view.

Our money is on Hall. Why?

Watch this spinning hook kick and we think you’ll agree:

The way to pull off a maneuver like the spinning hook kick is through balance training. Balance, good center of gravity, and core strength help to stabilize his body while propelling his leg forward with maximum velocity.

As we stated in a previous blog on mixed martial arts, there are four areas StrongBoard can help when it comes to mixed martial arts training: balance, center of gravity, reactivity, and core strength are all vital to success in the octagon. Practicing defensive and offensive routines while on StrongBoard will help in all four areas.

To train like Uriah Hall, pick up the Uriah “Prime Time” Hall Limited Edition StrongBoard. Check out this video featuring Uriah Hall going over different exercises to engage your core, chest and legs:
