StrongBoard Balance® Cited for its Effectiveness in Certified Magazine

The Official Publication of the American Council on Exercise Hails the Acclaimed Board as a Powerful Balance Training Tool!

LOS ANGELES (February 14, 2018) – StrongBoard Balance® is being hailed as an effective balance training tool in this month’s issue of Certified Magazine, the official publication of the American Council on Exercise (ACE).

Jonathan Ross, health and fitness expert and contributor to the magazine authored the article “StrongBoard: An ACE Integrated Fitness Training® Model-based Workout” where he cited StrongBoard Balance for its ability to provide an effective workout through The ACE Integrated Fitness Training® (ACE IFT®) Model. The model was created as a tool to help health and fitness professionals deliver custom, individualized exercise programs built on a foundation of meaningful rapport and strong personal connection.

“Balance training is often approached in widely accepted, yet misguided ways. For example, the usual test of balance is to stand on one leg and keep your eyes closed. This is very demanding, but also makes little sense,” Ross wrote. “In life, we most often have our eyes open and we are moving, whether on one or both legs. And these movements are often performed in response to something in the outside world.”

But Ross noted that StrongBoard Balance offers a certified balance training regimen that combines stability with mobility while giving users a challenging, but effective workout: “…to develop strength, you need to challenge the body’s muscles by making them temporarily weaker in a challenging strength-training effort. With balance, however, you might feel that you aren’t training effectively if you lose your balance at any point, but this is exactly what creates the greatest training stimulus.”

He added: “A well-designed balanced board features a stable surface with underlying instability and provides enough challenge to cause the exerciser to occasionally lose balance. For the most part, however, movements can be performed well with constant micro-corrections to body positioning. Additionally, to be most effective, the movements on the board should mimic real-life movements as much as possible.”

Ross went on to identify a number of exercises that can be used to complement and intensify favorite balance training exercises. They include the rocking squat, which shifts body weight from one leg to the other; the squat, which involves bending and lifting; the rocking plank, which involves planking on the board then move into a triceps press, and several other exercises.

StrongBoard Balance® Offers Education Course at Auburn Fit on February 19

Fitness Professionals in San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento & Nearby Communities Are Invited to Take Their Business to the Next Level with SBB Education! 

AUBURN, Calif. (February 6, 2017) – The makers of StrongBoard Balance® are inviting fitness professionals in San Francisco, San Jose, Sacramento and adjoining communities to join a education course at Auburn Fit in Auburn. The 8-hour session, which will educate fitness professionals to train and instruct using the critically acclaimed balance board, is equal parts interactive lecture and hands-on demonstration, and is approved for continuing education credits (CECs) by ACE, NASM, AFAA and NSCA.

The StrongBoard Balance Personal Trainer and Instructor Eduation course will run from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 19 at Auburn Fit, 140 Cleveland Ave. Auburn, Calif. 95603. Participants will receive a StrongBoard Balance Training Course Manual and eight hours of comprehensive instruction on important elements of balance training. The class will show fitness professionals how to develop a curriculum to execute exercises, assess clients to create a suitable training program, identify and describe positions on the balance board and more.

StrongBoard Balance® Education Course Now Accredited by NASM & AFAA for CEU’s

Newest Accreditation Follows Similar Move by ACE Honoring Continuing Education for the Acclaimed Balance Board! 

LOS ANGELES (March 16, 2016) – The StrongBoard Balance® education Course is now accredited for continuing education units for fitness professionals by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, or NASM, and Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, or AFAA. The action follows a similar move by American Council on Exercise (ACE), which accredited the eduation course in January.

The accreditations give personal trainers and instructors the necessary eight continuing education units from NASM and AFAA, which helps keep their education in good standing, while offering access to training techniques and vital information for one of the newest fitness tools available.

The course, now available in Los Angeles, will educate fitness professionals to train and instruct using the critically acclaimed balance board. Moreover, it will give participants the opportunity to add StrongBoard Balance training to their resume in order to teach individuals and groups how to benefit from the balance board, which was named a top training tool by ACE and the Best Buy Stability Product for 2016 by FitProf.net.

In an effort to keep the course personal and intimate, there are only 20 spaces available in each class. Anyone may participate in the course, but to receive continuing education credits, participants must already hold a fitness license from an accredited organization.
