My origins in the fitness industry:
I’ve always been active-ish. From soccer, to swimming, horseback riding and tennis I’ve pretty much tried almost every traditional sport there is. Swimming was really the only one that stuck and I absolutely loved it. In 2010 I started training for my first bodybuilding competition. After I achieved my goal I realized I wanted to pursue fitness as a career. I was working in corporate banking and it wasn’t until 2014 when I lost my job that I jumped with both feet into a career as a personal trainer. My ultimate goal as a trainer is to inspire, uplift and motivate my clients during all stages of their fitness journeys. Becoming a mom has only deepened that goal, I want my children to grow up knowing that fitness can and should be fun!
I love when a client reaches their “ah-ha” moment. Whether it takes days, weeks or months the moment they finally “get it” is what all trainers strive for! When you can see the change in their confidence in themselves and their abilities and they can see it to - there’s truly nothing better!
Personal Success:
After having my daughter I struggled to find the time and motivation to get back into a regular fitness routine. With two kiddos and a budding business, it was a challenge to set aside time to take care of myself. Using StrongBoard Balance I was able to literally transform my body in ways I wasn’t able to after the birth of my first child. I found my core rebounded back faster and stronger than with my previous pregnancy and fitness was fun again. One of the best parts of being a fit mom is when my son gets in on the action. He loves to imitate my exercises, especially if it means he gets to “surf” on the board!
Favorite StrongBoard Exercise:
I haven’t yet found an exercise I don’t like but one of the things I enjoy most is adding different resistance and modalities to the board. Squats with battle ropes, single leg squats with the TRX or lunges with bicep curls are some of my favorites to do.
Favorite StrongBoard Experience:
The first time I ever stood on the board was on FaceTime with Mike & Adella. To say I was nervous was an understatement. I was 6 weeks postpartum and had just been cleared to workout. To be trying something new so freshly off my maternity leave in front of the creators of the product was so intimidating. But Mike & Adella were so calming, motivating and supportive that my fear disappeared almost immediately. As soon as I was on it I was hooked! There hasn’t been a day that goes by I haven’t used it. A close second to that first experience, was when I got to meet both of them when I got certified to teach StrongBoard Balance to my clients! Being in the same room as people so passionate about their product, their message and fitness in general was such an incredible uplifting experience I will keep with me forever.
Favorite client success story? I can’t pick one. Every single time a client gets on the board for the first time is a success. They are always apprehensive in the being but once they see and feel what it can do for them and what they can do with it they fall in love! It’s amazing every time to watch the mental (and ultimately physical) transformation they go through with the board.
Favorite StrongBoard Color:
Pink & Purple of course!
Favorite Workout Music:
Anything with a great beat is always best for me. It energizes me and keeps me moving. Right now, Bruno Mars is on the top of my list because he makes me want to dance!
Hobbies:
I love to read, specifically historical fiction, cook with my family and travel with family and friends when time permits.
My Personal Vice:
?) I love to curl up with a glass of red wine, some chocolate and Scandal or Grey’s Anatomy
Travel Memories and Aspirations:
Of all the place I’ve been Italy is by far my favorite, specifically Sicily and Calabria. I would love to make it to Australia some day!
